The campaign that will ban nuclear weapons

The International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) is a coalition of non-government organizations in one hundred countries advocating for a strong and effective nuclear weapon ban treaty. Negotiations on this new global agreement will take place at the United Nations in New York in 2017.

ICAN has been the leading civil society coalition advocating for a treaty prohibiting nuclear weapons and has achieved significant success in convincing governments to prohibit this inhumane and unacceptable weapon of mass destruction in recent years.

You can find more information about ICAN here.

2. Get your government onboard

Email your Foreign Minister that you believe is time to begin a process to ban nuclear weapons. Want to do more? 3. Donate to the campaign

During the negotiations, ICAN will make sure that civil society campaigners from all around the world are present and able to lobby their governments. We will organise civil society meetings, ensure media coverage, share information on social media and work with parliamentarians and government officials to get a strong treaty. This requires a lot of resources. Help us get the best treaty possible by donating to the campaign today!
